Japanese Koi
Japanese use the word koi to describe the fish called carp in English. The fish are not native to Japan. Nevertheless, they have been bred there for ornamental variations for centuries. Depictions of koi can be found in most decorative arts. This picture shows what can happen when a young girl's hobby of breeding goldfish turns into an obsession.
